Commercialization Process
Generating a benefit from the practical application of research results
Take advantage of Unitectra’s experience in the commercialization of research results. The diagram provides an overview of the main steps involved in the commercialization of inventions. The process similarly applies to other types of research results, such as software, biological material, etc.
Through licensing of technologies to suitable companies, relevant research results can be developed and launched on the market in the form of new products or services as broadly and quickly as possible. An established corporation or a newly created spin-off company may qualify as a business partner.
What kind of research results can be commercially exploited?
Anything that satisfies a commercially significant customer need has a potential market and can therefore be commercially exploited. Results achieved at university level can form the basis for the development of a final product. The business partner usually takes over the developmental part of the project. Newly discovered or newly made substances, novel technologies or any improvement or novel application of an existing product could be interesting for economic applications.
